Environment Engagement for East Boston youth

4th graders’ impromptu collective test to check if clams respond to change in light

Since 2017, a coalition of environmental organizations in East Boston have been engaging school students with the coastal neighborhood’s rich surroundings in educational and fun ways. The program is called NATURE (Nature as Teacher for Urban Resiliency Education) and is available to all grades K-12.

The organizations involved are Eastie Farm and The Harborkeepers. In 2018, Piers Park Sailing Center has joined the coalition.
